Rani Calderon - conductor
Musical Director at the Teatro Municipal in Santiago de Chile, the young Israeli
conductor has gained international acclaim both in operatic and symphonic
repertoire performing in the dual capacity of conductor and pianist. Rani
Calderon collaborates, among others, with the Théâtre du Capitole in Toulouse,
the New Israeli Opera in Tel Aviv, the Opéra Royal de Wallonie in Liège, the
Opéra du Rhin in Strasbourg, the Vlaamse Opera in Antwerp, the Monte Carlo Opera
Theatre. He conducted Meyerbeer's
Semiramide at the Festival della
Valle d'Itria in Martina Franca, Italy,
edited in cd by Dynamic. He gained great success conducting Puccini’s Il Trittico at the Theater an der Wien in Vienna.
As Principal
Conductor at Teatro Municipal in Santiago de Chile, he recently conducted Tannhäuser, Elektra,
L'Italiana in Algeri, Aida and Lucrezia Borgia.
Other future engagements include Rigoletto in Dresden and concerts in Sofia,
Bari, Bonn and Santiago de Chile.
